Specialist Anaesthetist

Dr Andy Cluer is an experienced Consultant Anaesthetist working in public and private practice in Sydney. He completed his fellowship by specialising in neuro-anaesthesia at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. As a Consultant he has experience working in major teaching hospitals both in London and Sydney. His subspecialty interests, in addition to the above, include obstetric anaesthesia, anaesthesia for bariatric surgery and anaesthesia for plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Dr Cluer has also advanced skills in transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) and has undertaken extensive postgraduate training in this discipline. His TTE qualifications include an MSc Medical Ultrasound (Echo) from Imperial College, London and he is one of very few anaesthetists worldwide with full diagnostic accreditation in TTE from both the British Society of Echocardiography and European Society of Cardiology. He was recently nominated for the prestigious 2017 Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA), Gilbert Brown Prize and is a contributing author to the MSc in Peri-operative Medicine by University College London.
